Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney was born on November 19, 1959. The actress is an American actress. Her performance on screen as well as on stage were a highlight of her professional career, which spanned more than three decades. Janney received numerous accolades including the Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. The actress was also awarded seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was also nominated to two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston as a child, but was raised on the streets of Dayton (Ohio). Her career began when she got a grant to study at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Janney earned credit for a number of small and rare film and television appearances in the past. Her most memorable performance in the role of C. J. Cregg in the NBC show The West Wing (1999-2006) earned her five Primetime Emmy Awards. The year 2014 saw her win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in the role of Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
